Göteborg players plan a turffika at Condeco on 4 November

Players in Göteborg have a date for coffee. A turffika will be held at Condeco on Fredsgatan in Göteborg on Wednesday 4 November, from 18:00. The meetup was announced in the Facebook group Turf Västra Götaland on 28 October.

A fika is the Swedish coffee break, usually with something sweet on the side. A turffika is the same idea for people who play Turf: a relaxed meetup where players can talk about zones, rounds and everything else in the game.

Round start and Halloween

The timing is no accident of the calendar. The new round starts over the same weekend as Halloween. A round lasts about a month, and when a new one begins, points reset and the race starts again.

The turffika follows a few days later. The post in Turf Västra Götaland makes a playful link between the two. Players who get no sweets at Halloween on the Saturday, it says, can have something sweet at the fika after the weekend instead.

Who can come

According to the post, ghost turfers are also welcome, in keeping with the Halloween theme.
